The Huc bridge is like a red silk strip on the green water surface of Hoan Kiem Lake, next to the willow branches, fairy banyan tree branches, connecting the noisy streets to Ngoc Son temple on the tranquil Ngoc island.

The Huc Bridge was built in 1865, designed curved like the shrimp shape. The Huc bridgeheads to the East to welcome the early morning sunshine, which is considered as the symbol of the Sun god. With this meaning, the bridge is covered by the red – the color of life, of every source of happiness, of the desire from the ancient times to the present.

First, the bridge is made of wood with the wooden support pillars, the legs of the bridge stretch out, self-pin to the lake. For nearly a century and a half, the old wooden bridge was replaced with reinforced concrete but it still had the look of the red bridge in the past.
