Some notes for you
Prepare a picnic pack so you can make a party in the middle of the forest. If you have time, you should go for 2 days in the weekends, because it will be so tired if you go about 1.5 days so you can only sleep over a night in the forest and leave in the next afternoon. The food in the forest is not very rich, so you should prepare enough food for two days, especially for a trip with children.
Temperatures in the forest at night and early morning are usually cold, so remember to wear thin raincoats to avoid cold and mist. The ideal weather to come to Cuc Phuong is sunny days when the rainy season passes in the forest to reduce the mosquitoes and insects.
There are always plenty of insects in the forest, so if you have children, you should prepare for them.
