All structures of architecture, building materials (wood) to stuff in the house are kept the same as they were before. On February 16, 2004, the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) signed the decision to recognize the ancient house no.87 in Ma May as a National Heritage.

Today, the house becomes an information point, introducing people and visitors to the house of the Vietnamese people in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Visitors coming to the house will get a better understanding of the lifestyle and activities of the old Hanoi.

The house is not wide but very deep. The street side is a shop, not a wall, but open to the street to display goods. Inside there is a loose yard. Next to the backyard is the warehouse and kitchen.
