Vietnam Visa Requirement For UK Passport Holders Updated March 2020: 15 Days Visa Exemption For UK Are Suspended

Previously a UK citizen did not need to apply for visa when coming to Vietnam less than 15 days, but now all UK passport holders must apply for a Vietnam visa to be allowed to enter the country. This is the new information that was approved in this afternoon meeting of Vietnam Government, March 9, 2020.

Facing the complicated situation of the n-Covid19 epidemic spreading in Europe, the Vietnamese government has decided to suspend unilateral visa exemption for a number of European countries, including the UK. Accordingly, UK citizens must apply for a visa when coming to Vietnam, even though the stay is less than 15 days. This decision was made to control the disease which is currently beginning to increase in Vietnam. Thus, UK passport holders will have to apply for a visa to Vietnam starting today March 9th .

However, the Vietnam visa procedure for UK citizens remains the same. Citizens with a UK passport can still apply for a visa at Vietnamese embassy in London or any other country, or apply for an online visa on the internet. The visa application process is still simple and does not take much time.

For individuals living near London, you can go directly to Vietnam Embassy in London to apply for a visa. You need to prepare the original passport, two 3x4cm photos, and application form. The procedure takes about 5 working days.

For those who are far away from London, you should apply for a visa online. All types of Vietnam visas can now be applied online quickly and conveniently. No need to prepare complex documents and no need to move anywhere, just use your mobile phone or computer to fill in the online visa application form.
