UK Passport Holders Are Required To Apply Vietnam Visa From 9th March 2020

Updated 9/3/2020: Vietnam Government just issued an announcement to suspense Vietnam visa waiver programme for UK passport holders. From now on, UK passports holders are not exempted from Vietnam visa 15 days as before, and they must apply visa when coming to Vietnam.

UK has more than 250 positive-tested patients with Covid-19. Due to the complicated situation of nCovid diseases in the world and to prevent the spread of disease, the Vietnamese government has applied many solutions to ensure health and safety for the community. One of those solution is stopped visa free 15 days for UK passport holders (UK passport holders can come to Vietnam with Visa Exemption 15 days previously). So now, UK passport holders are required to apply Vietnam visa from 9th March.

Note: UK passport holders had visa to Vietnam already, but still banned entry to Vietnam or quarantined if:

–             Passengers who have been in or transited through China in the past 14 days are not allowed to enter Viet Nam.

–             Passengers who have been or transited through Korea in the past 14 days will be quarantined. Especially, passengers who have been or transited through disease center as Deagu, Gyeongbuk in the past 14 days will be banned into Vietnam.

–             Passengers who have been or transited through Iran or Italy in the past 14 days will be quarantined for 14 days.

If UK citizens have not had Vietnam visa yet, and do not belong to these above cases, they still can apply Vietnam visa to enter this country. Although Vietnam visa exemption is suspended, UK passport holders still can apply visa to Vietnam in this period. The Vietnam embassy is still opened to grant visa for UK passport holders.
