Which Website Is Official For Applying Vietnam E-visa Online?

Vietnam is now opened with the electronic visa program (E-visa), which helps the foreigners to be easier to get visa. The applicants just stay at home, using laptop, tablet or cellphone, applying online through the internet and get e-visa through their email. It is quite simple, except the question: which website is official for applying E-visa online?

When you do the search through the internet, there are many websites providing Vietnam visa online. Each one is designed like the official website, which makes you confused. Choosing the official website not only help you to not worry about the service but also save money, so this post will help you find out this website.

There is only one official governmental website for E-visa Vietnam, however the domain is likely in Vietnamese, so it is quite not easy to realize for foreigner. Please see website domain and procedure for applying an e-visa on this website:

How About Other Websites?

Of course, when you search about E-visa, there are a lot of website providing Vietnam E-visa application. They are all travel agencies. Their service is providing visa to Vietnam, including E-visa. Their fee is a little bit more expensive than the official website, but their service, of course, is better. The reason is:

  • Official website is related to the Government. It is freely opened for the foreigner to apply visa online. However, they do not provide support service. If you need to ask any question about your visa case, or you need to check your visa status, or ask anything else about application process, there is no one answering you! For travel agent, they provide online support 24/7. You can ask them anything, or revising your visa order when you make mistake, or checking your visa status.
  • You cannot get E-visa fast when applying through official website. It takes at least 3 working days for processing, and sometimes up to 1 week to get back the result. For travel agent, you are guaranteed to get visa within 2 working days, and can be faster if you pay extra fee. This is an advantage for using travel agent.
  • When you apply in official website, if your visa is not approved, your money will not be refunded. They do not inform to you about the reason as well. However, if you apply with travel agent, this risk fee will not be existed. When you apply with travel agent, if your order is refused, your money will be refunded 100%.

In summary, there is only one official website for applying E-visa. Besides, there are many travel agents’ websites providing this kind of visa. Each one also has advantages and disadvantages. The fee for applying with travel agent ($40 USD) is higher than what you paid for official website ($25 USD plus $1 USD for online transaction), but the services you receive is equivalent to what you pay, that is the reason why many people still choose travel agent.
