Visa On Arrival has been chosen as a common kind of visa to visit Vietnam with tourism or business purpose. Normally, the application process to get “the approval letter” will take 2 working days. However, you can also require to use “the express service” to get it faster.
Especially, you can apply for Visa On Arrival everywhere and every time, no matter it is at the weekend or holidays.
E-visa needs to be approved by Vietnamese Goverment. At the weekend, it is not in working time, so there is no way to get E-visa.
However, “the approval letter” of the Visa On Arrival application process doesn’t need to be approved like E-visa. It is approved by Vietnam Immigration Department, and the urgent cases can still be processed, that’s why you can totally get it every time.

While using the express service, “the approval letter” will be sent to you after 4 working hours (by 12:30 PM) or 8 working hours (by 7 PM) at the same day.
