Papua New Guinean Can Apply Vietnam E-visa Again From March 15, 2022 | Vietnam E-Visa Requirements For Papua New Guinean

Good news for all Papua New Guinean passport holders: Vietnam has reopened tourism and re-issued e-visa for Papua New Guineans from March 15, 2022. Papua New Guinean passport holders can now apply e-visa online and travel to Vietnam after being closed for two years due to Covid-19.

After a long period of closure due to pandemic, Vietnamese government has decided to restore international flight routes, restore visa policies for all countries like before the pandemic, re-issue electronic visas, restore the visa-free policy, and at the same time open up the tourism industry to welcome international visitors back as before.

Vietnam visa policies for Papua New Guineans are restored from March 15, 2022

From March 15, 2022, Papua New Guinean passport holders can apply visa and enter Vietnam as before. Specifically, the resumed visa policies for Papua New Guineans include:

  • Papua New Guinean passport holders are exempted from visa to Vietnam if they fly directly to Phu Quoc and travel within Phu Quoc island within 30 days
  • Papua New Guinean passport holders are exempted from visa to Vietnam within 90 days if holding a valid APEC card
  • Papua New Guinean passport holders are exempted from visa to Vietnam if they carry a valid visa exemption card
  • Papua New Guinean passport holders are exempted from visa to Vietnam if they carry a valid TRC card
  • Papua New Guinean passport holders can apply e-visa for single entry within 30 days
  • Papua New Guinean passport holders can apply visa on arrival and receive their visa at the airport upon arrival

Procedures for applying e-visa for Papua New Guineans in 2022

Papua New Guinean passport holders can easily apply e-visa to enter Vietnam as before, specifically as follows:

First, Papua New Guinean applicant needs to prepare a clear picture or scan of passport. Note that Papua New Guinean only need to scan personal information page and passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the time of entry. In addition, the Papua New Guinean applicant needs a digital self-portrait (white background).

After preparing the above two documents, Papua New Guineans need to access the website to apply Vietnam E-visa online and fill in the necessary information as well as attach the scanned passport and digital photo. This process only takes about 2-3 minutes to complete.

Vietnam electronic visa will be sent to the registered email after being approved by the Immigration Department. Electronic visa will clearly show the personal information of the visa applicant, the validity of the visa and the place of entry. Therefore, Papua New Guineans need to carefully check information when applying visa online.

On the day of entry, the immigration department at the airport or land border gate will check the E-visa and compare it with the information on the system. Papua New Guineans do not need to present any additional documents other than the original passport.
