Best Time To Visit Vietnam

Vietnam is a beautiful country located in the Southeast Asia. With more than 2,000 kilometers length from the north to the south, the weather of Vietnam varies from regions to regions. So, what time is the best to visit Vietnam? The answer is very simple: Every time!

Vietnam is a nation with more than 2,000 meters long in area from the North with Sapa Town to the South with Mekong Delta. There are two different kinds of weather in Vietnam, the 4-season weather in the North with Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and the 2-season weather in the South with rainy season and dry season.


Weather of the South

Let’s begin with the weather of the south. Dry season is from December to April. There is almost no rain in this season. The sky is clear and blue. The temperature is around 27 – 33 celsius degree, so weather is a little bit hot. At this time, the locals usually go to the beach for enjoying weekend or holiday. If you want to be relaxed at resort near the beach, this is really a good time to visit Vietnam. Or if you want to explore the highland, you should consider about Da Lat because of its cold weather.

Rainy season comes from May to November. May to June is the beginning of rainy season, with some sudden rain in the afternoon, but not too much. July to September is main time of rainy season, when many heavy rains appear at any time. But this time is peak season of domestic tourism, because children are in summer holiday (from June to August) so that many families go to travel together. Therefore, you should pay attention if you want to visit Vietnam this time.

The climate lowers from September to January. This time is the best time for overseas tourists travel to the South of Vietnam.


Weather of the North

The North of Vietnam is well-known with 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. You can decide the time to travel to the North of Vietnam basing on what weather you like. Spring is cool and comfortable. Many flowers bloom on this time; Summer is hot and dry, but it is good time to travel to the beach; Autumn is windy, with many special flowers in the Northwest; Winter is cold. You should realize that the winter in the North is colder than its one in the South. The lowest temperature of Ho Chi Minh City reaches 20 celsius degree in December, but the lowest one in Ha Noi can be 5 celsius degree. In Summer, the highest temperature of Ho Chi Minh City is 35 celsius degree, but It can be 39 celsius degree in Ha Noi. That means you should prepare for your clothes carefully before you come to Vietnam.


Typhoons

August to November is time of typhoons. The typhoons come from Philippines sea and directly go to Vietnam land, especially the central of Vietnam. If you have a plan to go to Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An or any places of the Central of Vietnam, you should avoid the time from August to November.


In summary, you can go to Vietnam any time you like, but September – January is ideal time to visit the South, meanwhile Spring and Autumn are best time to visit the North. And try to avoid the time from August to November when you visit the Central.
